Start HP USB Key Utility for Windows installation and click Install.

On the next screen, click Install to start the installation.

Wait until the utility is installed and click Close. Start HP USB Key Utility for Windows from the All Programs group.

On the first screen, click Next.

Accept the license agreement and click Next.

Select Create a bootable USB key from CD/DVD. This option will prepare a bootable USB key from a Firmware Maintenance DVD (or SmartStart CD).

When the following screen is seen, insert the supported USB key into the USB port.

Select a source CD/DVD and target USB device. Source device is a Firmware DVD and the target will be the USB key that was inserted to the USB port in a previous step. Make sure that the appropriate drive letters are selected. Click Next to continue.

On the warning screen, click Next to start creating a bootable USB key. Be aware that all information stored on the USB stick will be lost.

Wait until the USB key is prepared and click Finish. Now one can boot the server (ProLiant ML/DL/SL/BL) using this USB key. It is a fast way of deploying firmware updates to a small amount of servers.
